The Six Items Every Bedroom Needs

The Six Items Every Bedroom Needs-Chispa Magazine
I love my bedroom because it is the only place I seem to get some peace and quiet. No matter where I am in the
house, someone always manages to interrupt. Because I spend a lot of time in my bedroom, I appreciate one that is perfectly decked out.

Obviously, there are a few things you cannot do without, like a bed and a mattress. But, what about the other details we tend to miss? Here are a few that every bedroom needs.

The Theme
No one expects you to have a Disney style theme going on in your bedroom. After all, you are not ten years old anymore! Still, that doesn’t mean you cannot have a grown up theme. Themes are a great tool that streamlines your chosen style while also creating a modern tone. For example, you can make good use of stripes by installing stripy wallpaper and a stripy rug. Both the walls and the floors match and look sophisticated at the same time.

A Rug
Talking of rugs, you want to consider buying one. To me, a bedroom doesn’t seem right without a shag pile on the floor. Of course, they are very modern and contemporary when done correctly. But, the main benefit is practicality. Nothing gets the day off to a bad start like rolling out of bed and stepping onto a cold floor. It is almost as bad as stubbing your toe. Rugs are soft, warm and comfortable, so there is no chance of that happening.

The Right Bedding
Everyone worries about the bed, but forgets about the bedding. We are so caught up in how the bed and mattress look and feel that we forget something incredibly important. Your duvet cover is just as important to your comfort as the firmness of the bed. The wrong duvet cover will retain too much heat or lose too much heat, making it harder for you to regulate your temperature while you sleep. Comfort is paramount in the bedroom, and you are not comfortable when you are overheating or freezing.

Throw Pillows
Men, in particular, hate throw pillows because they don’t understand their necessity. If I am totally honest, I don’t like throw pillows much either. When done properly, they look amazing, and they are practical. The problem is they are hardly ever done properly. Bedrooms are full of throw pillows that look clumsy and untidy because there are so many and are not functional for the same reason. If you insist, make sure you use the right amount.

A Place To Sit
And… this isn’t referring to the bed. Not everyone has the room, which is understandable. But, if you do have space, you need another piece of big furniture. A place to sit other than the bed is good for conversations that shouldn’t happen under the sheets, or simply for a place to sit and read.

No Technology Rule
Ban technology and electronic devices from your bedroom. They prevent you from sleeping, and your bedroom has one main goal: to help you rest and recover. We hope you are ready for the transformation!
