How To Create The Perfect Theme Party

How To Create The Perfect Theme Party-Chispa MagazineMost of us love going to parties. It’s the perfect opportunity to let your hair down and catch up with friends. Lots of us also love to host parties. Sure, there may be a lot of hard work and planning to do, but who doesn’t want to be the hostess with the mostest? There are lots of different kinds of parties, but one of the most popular types at the moment is the theme parties.

Theme parties are so much fun because they exist to surprise the guests. It’s all about the detail, and the intricate weaving of the theme into all of the festivities. Theme parties are the hardest to organize and the trickiest to get right, yet they are most certainly the best for crowd pleasing.

A theme party might be a lavish dinner party, or a simple get together around the holidays. You and your guests may choose to dress up and make it a costume party. Some of the most popular costume parties are for theme parties because all the guests look like they belong. You always get the eclectic mix of superheroes on Halloween, but how about Victorian outfits or futuristic outfits? Period costumes are certainly seeing a revival at the moment.

The food can also be themed. You might choose dishes related to the theme. For a Victorian party, you might serve cucumber sandwiches and tea from the pot. It’s not just about the cuisine, but how it is served too. Choose tableware that fits in with the general look you are trying to achieve. Think about the crockery; you can even have special napkins printed up.

Decorating your home for a themed party is lots of fun too. You can find lots of themed ornaments at the Fun Christmas Ornaments website. These can be hung on trees or on strung garlands to enhance your theme decor and some themes are color specific. You might want lots of things that are blue or maybe you’re having a black and white party, where color is banned altogether!

Some theme parties go even further. You and the guests may get into character. Examples of this would include the classic murder mystery party. There may be games or even scripts for you and the guests to follow. These can be quite intense but they are lots of fun providing everybody is on board for the events.

Lighting for your theme party is also very important. In fact, the lights themselves may be a part of the theme. If your theme is futuristic or space, then you might want bright LEDs around the walls to mimic a space craft. You can go even further and add sound effects. Your choice of music should also tie in with the theme you are working.

Theme parties can take a long time to organize so you might want to use a checklist to help you plan it. You and your guests may even get together to brainstorm ideas for the party as a group. The only restrictions are your imaginations.
