Choose A Location. The first step is to pick a location in your home for this climbing wall to be constructed. Garages are probably the best place for an indoor home climbing wall as they tend to be spacious. So, this is a great location if you aren’t really using your garage for anything. Of course, your backyard is incredibly spacious, and there’s no real limit to how big you make your climbing wall when it’s outdoors. Choose a location, and you can progress to step two.

Create Some Designs. Step two involves coming up with some designs for your home climbing wall. You can sketch these, and you’ll probably come up with a fair few. Some people use plywood to bring their designs to life as it’s the easiest and cheapest material to use while still being strong. You’ll need screws, nails, and the relevant tools too. Then, you follow your designs and start building it from the ground up. If you find that your design is too big, and you can’t install it on your own, then don’t worry. Make It Climbable. The final step is turning your wall into a proper climbing wall. To do this, you’ll need to get your hands on various holds that need to be screwed into the face of the wall. This is where your hands and feel will go when you’re looking for support as you climb. Once you’ve done this, test your wall by climbing it yourself. Make sure you test every hold to ensure the wall is climbable. If the tests go well and you’re certain this wall is safe and ready to climb, then it’s job done.
