‘Stuck on stupid’ is a phrase I’ve heard and used. So many times we get “used to” a set of circumstances and behaviors without wise input, and the end result ends up being… stupid.
According to Merrimack-Webster, stupid is slow of mind: obtuse; given to unintelligent decisions or acts: acting in an unintelligent or careless manner, lacking intelligence or reason: brutish; dulled in feeling or sensation: torpid.
To effectuate our best life, we need to continually evaluate our actions and be willing to learn. So, as we close out each month, let’s give it that “oomph” that we do for a new year. February 2019 will come to an end next week, let’s leave the things that weren’t working, in the past. Let’s be willing to use wisdom learned and loose the “familiar” tomfoolery and asinine behavior that we are “used to” because “we always did it that way” and “that’s the way I am” mentality. And, let’s walk into each moment, each day, week, month, and circumstance willing to learn and use wisdom. Let’s choose to be intentionally better than yesterday; it’s a practice and habit that builds our best self.
“Joyful is the person who finds wisdom, the one who gains understanding.” -Proverbs 3:13
