Three Ideas To Get You In The Christmas Mood

Three Ideas To Get You In The Christmas Mood-Chispa MagazineIt won’t be long till Christmas is upon us. For some of us it’s easy to get excited about this magical season, but for others it can take a bit of encouragement. There are plenty of things you can do to get your feeling more Christmassy and it doesn’t always have to be about the shopping. Here are four ideas to get you full of Christmas spirit in no time.

  1. Go to The Theatre

Winter brings some brilliant theatre and pantomime productions throughout the UK. It’s the sign that Christmas is around the corner. Classic Christmas tales such as a Christmas Carol, are popular around this time of year and will fill you with nostalgia. Pantomimes are not always necessarily Christmas themed and they will primarily target children. Don’t let this put you off. The jokes in the majority of pantomimes are aimed at the adults and parents in the audience, so you’re guaranteed to be laughing throughout. They may be depicting everyday fairy tales but that doesn’t mean you won’t feel Christmassy afterwards. Places like Blackpool have a number of winter productions for you to see. You can find Blackpool tickets for various shows here. These usually start from Mid November and continue till the new year, so you have plenty of time to organize a day trip with your loved ones.

  1. Visit a Christmas Market

Visiting a Christmas market is a sure fire way of getting into the spirit. Or should I say spirits. These markets usually have an array of alcoholic beverages and great food for you to buy. Why not try German beer with a frankfurter hot dog or homemade mince pies? They will also have stalls of handcrafted gifts, which are great if you want to get truly unique gifts this year. The excitement and atmosphere of these markets can be electric and it will be difficult not to enjoy yourself. Remember that these markets gain popularity each year so they can get busy. Try and choose sensible times and days to visit to make it a more leisurely experience.

  1. Go Ice Skating

This is a fun Christmas activity that everybody will enjoy. It may look scary, but give it a go! Up and down the  shopping centres and Christmas markets will set up temporary rinks for you to use. Or just find out where your local rink is. Get yourself all wrapped up warm and wear gloves. Head down to your chosen rink and just have fun. It’s an inexpensive day out so you could take your whole family or just your partner. Once you’ve finished why not go for a hot chocolate to maintain that Christmassy feeling.

Everyone will have their own way of getting into the Christmas mood. I like to stay at home and watch back to back Christmas films in the weeks leading up to the big day. Starting family traditions or maintaining old ones are another way of feeling festive. Being together is what it’s really all about, so whatever you do just make sure it’s with your loved ones.
