Simple Ways To Improve Your Mental Health This Week

Plan next week’s meals. One of the reasons many of us might feel stressed and overwhelmed is due to what we eat and our size. Everyone has insecurities with their bodies and when you are feeling down it can be hard to think about eating a salad when you can order a pizza instead and enjoy something more comforting. It is natural for us to struggle with our diets, and that’s why planning meals ahead of time is so important. By spending some time now planning what you will eat next week, you will reduce your stress levels and you will also be able to make better decisions. By planning ahead of time and even preparing food ahead of time, you will save stress as well as stick to a good healthy routine. 

Walk 10,000 steps a day. It is so important for your mental health that you look after your body in any way that you can. That being said, the idea of going to a workout when you are feeling low is near impossible and this is something that might not be realistic for you. That’s why instead you need to think about walking 10,000 steps a day. Walking is an easy form of exercise, and you can head out to a park to do it and allow your mind to relax and renew while you perform some essential cardio. 

Stay in touch. Staying in touch with people whether it be family in your own home, phone chat numbers, or friends over the internet is crucial. If you are feeling disconnected a little low, talking to other people even if it is just random conversation is exactly what you need. People lift others up, and they can help you to get out of your rut and feel more valued and happy. 

Join an art club. If you are in need of a change in your life this week, one way to do that is to join a club. Art is a great choice because it allows you to learn new skills while doing something creative and cathartic. You can paint whatever you want and get rid of the stresses of the day in a way that is fun and new. Many local libraries and community centres have art clubs on so take a look and see what is offered in your local community. 

Try writing. Writing is a great form of escapism and it will allow you to create your own world for a little while away from this one. Write a novel, short stories, songs, or even poems and this can be a fun way to spend your time.
