Unless you are actually working one of the jobs on this list, there’s a very good chance that you have absolutely no idea how well they can pay. Before we proceed with the list though, it is worth mentioning that the salaries mentioned here are not what everyone in these fields earns but is an estimated potential of what some of these professionals take home. Now, without further delay, let’s take a look at the five jobs that could help you earn unexpectedly high incomes.
Golf Ball Diver. A full-time golf ball diver can earn as much as $150,000 per year since they find literally thousands of golf balls per day on their dives! The going rate in the US is about 75 cents per ball, and from there on, it’s all about how dedicated they are to the job really. Keep in mind that it isn’t an easy task by any means because not only will you need to be an expert swimmer with brilliant stamina to dive underwater all day and search for tiny golf balls, but you will also be putting your life at risk because venomous snakes and alligators do frequent these waters.
Ice Cream Taster. It almost sounds too good to be true, but you can actually get paid handsomely for eating free ice cream! How much you ask? It depends really, but nothing less than $40,000 to as much more than $100,000 per year. Known as taste masters and flavorologists in the field, you cannot have high blood sugar, diabetes, or other similar high-blood glucose-related problems and, of course, your taste buds need to be in impeccable condition for tasting and judging multiple ice cream samples on a daily basis.
NFL Referee. We have a pretty good idea about how much NFL superstars like Matthew Stafford and Andrew Luck get paid in salary and endorsements but have you ever wondered how much the referees at these games get paid? Well, as Richest Lifestyle points out, it’s more than $200,000 in 2018.
Ethical Hacker. World class ethical hackers who are working to stop all the illegal hacker organizations of the world from accessing private, sensitive and potentially world-ending information are priceless resources for just about any country or corporation. Therefore, their payment cannot really be estimated either since they work in secrecy. Nevertheless, even the most basic ethical hacker earns no less than $70,000 a year.
Psychiatrist. We all know that being a head shrink is a well-paid job, but most people don’t realize is how much they actually earn. As it turns out, the median salary itself is about $200,000, with most top psychiatrists earning nearly half a million dollars per year.
As you can see, there are more ways to earn money than people generally think and while professions like psychiatry are more traditional, hunting for golf balls in the middle of the lake and earning more than a hundred thousand dollars per year most certainly isn’t.
