Best Way to Start the New Year?

Chispa Magazine, Mavian Arocha-Rowe

To know without His birth on Christmas Day there is no crucifixion; and with no crucifixion… there is no resurrection.

Did you know the worst circumstances bring out the best in us? So… what we perceive as the wrong circumstance can actually produce something right or righteous in us.

Moses needed to tend sheep for 40 years to later lead the flock of Israel. Disciples needed to fish fish to later become fishermen of men. Jesus created masterpieces in wood before He made masterpiece in us.

What about you? What unforeseen news or update has you twisted inside yet with the possibility of impacting others with how you unravel your challenge? We aren’t promised a life of peace; instead, it is written that we will have trials, troubles, and tribulation. Yet in the One we come to believe in is peace and He has overcome the world.

Searching for meaning, Rebekah Lyons, one of my favorite authors, stumbled on surrender, discovering that meaning follows surrender. And… she found freedom when she faced her greatest fear. Let’s start 2015 with her piece of wisdom, “For it is only when we freefall that we can truly fly.”

Editor-in-Chief at Chispa Magazine
Mavian Arocha-Rowe is known as an asset to the business and communications industry and is motivating and advocating “your authenticity should be your strategy,” for all women, regardless of their season and roles. For the past 20 years she has directed magazines, plus multiple art and marketing departments as creative director and brand manager. What supersedes all of her great career moves is her role as wife and mother living in Atlanta. Challenging herself to discover and bravely pursue the calling for her life, Arocha-Rowe helps other women discover and pursue their life’s assignment. She is a passionate, and loud-laughing speaker on the topic of purposefully redeemed, and mentors young women so they can exercise a mind that is doctrinally pure, along with a heart that beats toward sanctification. She will almost never turn down Marlow’s Tavern double-tavern cheeseburger, a cooking-demonstration from Leaning Ladder, or any opportunity to head to Miami to spend time with family.
