Often we measure what needs to be done by what we have left. “How old are we” or “what have we done” are often the qualifiers and quantifiers of our life accomplishments.
By this age—X should happen, when you have this (physical object)—-Y is the status obtained. But God measures things differently. He made a stutterer, a leading voice of a nation in Moses. He saw a king in a kid, David, who was once a Shepard boy. He used a prostitute, Rahab, to be the ancestor of the savior, Jesus Christ. And, he chose a critic and killer of Christians, Paul, to call many onto Christ.
With human eyes, those people didn’t “measure up” to the expected standards of a leader, a king, a Savior. But God saw more, in His time.
Don’t be moved when the “time” doesn’t seem “right” to do X or to have Y. Instead, cling to God. He has a way of making time, work for Him, and for you.
