Acceptable in Thine Sight

Chispa Magazine

Don’t we all love a good fashion blog? A uniquely designed fashion Instagram page? So many trends to follow, so many new ideas on how to switch up our ever-changing styles.

Keeping up with the latest trends can be pretty overwhelming. When reaching into our wallets, sometimes oblivious to whether we’re following the right trends.

So what are the right trends?…

Many of us, I’m sure, have seen plenty of young girls, and even women, who have a “balance issue” when it comes to the way they dress. A little too much curve here, a little too much jiggle there or, in the worst cases, a little too much of everything! It’s very apparent that they aren’t aware of the message they’re sending to the world. What is someone to think when they see a woman showing all the “assets” their mama gave them? Inappropriate thoughts, that’s for sure.

So what really is acceptable in Thine sight?

You don’t have to walk around completely covered from head to toe but you also don’t have to wear anything that’s exposing more skin than it’s covering. We should always try to look presentable and tasteful wherever we go, because really, first impressions are everything and you never know who you’re going to run into or what big opportunity you may miss. Someone could’ve heard great things about you but when they see you in person and you’re dressed like you just left the club, what do you suppose they’ll think about you?

Our body is a temple and should be treated as such. We need to respect our bodies. Cover it up in the areas that aren’t meant to be seen. We (women) are beautiful creatures and we should treat ourselves like the beauty queens we are. We should not degrade ourselves by showing the lustful eyes of the world what they want to see. They don’t deserve the satisfaction and we don’t deserveto be looked at as objects.

When taking your daily questions into consideration, one should always ask: Is this outfit acceptable in Thine sight? Would God frown upon the decision I have made for the day? It may cause a last minute wardrobe change but we should be used to it anyway! We’re women, for crying out loud!

Trends of the world will forever be trends of the world; but wouldn’t it be a great thing to set your own trends by being classy, tasteful, while remaining as stylish as you please? Well, I sure think so! You could be one of the next Instagram fashion pages—like the ones you love so much—and not even realize it.

There’s nothing wrong with staying current with the latest looks, but individuality is key. You should never have to comprise your beliefs for your outfit. Own your individuality. Be yourself, because there’s no better you than YOU. Impressing those of the world is okay, but who’s judgment overrides everyone else of the world? Our Heavenly Father. So ladies, let’s put on our best for Him and not the guy next door!
