For Men: Plan The Perfect Proposal

Getting married is a very big decision indeed. Of course, you won’t be able to get married if your partner doesn’t agree! So, to find out whether they are also ready to jump into married life, you are going to have to ask them by proposing.

I’m sure that we all have a very stereotypical view of proposing in our minds when we think about it. It usually involves the man getting down on one knee to ask his partner if she wants to marry him. But now that many couples are happy to break with tradition, there are now just as many women proposing to their boyfriends!

Do you think you are ready to pop the question? If so, here are a few ways you can make it a memorable occasion.

Pick Out The Ring

First of all, you will need to decide on whether you are going to propose with a ring or not. Traditionally, this is the done thing but now more couples are waiting to find their perfect ring until after they have agreed to get married. That’s so they can find one that they both like. If you are going to buy the ring as a surprise, though, make sure you find the right ring for your significant other. It will need to be something that matches their style so that you know that they will wear it. If you aren’t too sure what kind of ring to get them, you could always ask their best friend for advice.

Choose The Location

Do you have an idea of where you will pop the question? Some people choose locations that have a special meaning to them and their partner. For instance, quite a few people will take their partner back to the restaurant where they had their first date. Don’t worry if you would rather not propose in public, though, as lots of people now do it discreetly in their own homes.

Think About How You Can Document The Proposal

You will both want to remember your engagement forever, so you should think about how you can document or record the moment. One great idea is to plan the event with some of your friends. They could be hiding in the background waiting to pop out with their cameras. If you don’t have anyone who can help you with this, you could always use some sneaky hidden cameras. That’s a great idea if you are going to propose at home.

Consider The Right Time

Something else to consider is the right time to propose. One little tip is to not do it when your partner is going through a stressful time in their life. Even though you might think that this surprise will help to cheer them up, it could do the opposite and they might struggle to deal with the pressure that a proposal puts on them. If necessary, it might be worth waiting for a couple of months until they are having a better time with life.

How will you propose?
