Who is Influencing Me?

They say not to judge a book by it’s cover. Millennials, however, wear their words on their sleeves so to speak. It’s sometimes easy to tell who influences any given person: the Kardashians and Jenners, with their tens of millions of Instagram followers; the “Real” Housewives, who aren’t even wives; and the many Bravo and Netflix shows that overpopulate the senses.

But who is influencing me? What is shaping my worldview? In this age of social media influencers, we are unable to comprehend how much exists simply to manipulate and persuade us into buying or acting in a certain way.  Anyone you follow, whether it’s Twitter or Instagram, is actually leading you. Have you thought about that? That, what you see on social media is what you feed yourself.

Take some time today to process that. Who am I following and who is leading me? Are they worth following? Do they bring me closer to eternity? What is feeding me and shaping my worldview, and does that make me look more like Jesus?
