Tips For Kicking Procrastination To The Curb And Making Life More Efficient

Bucket List-Chispa MagazineNo matter how hard we try to pretend otherwise, all of us are guilty of procrastinating at some point or another in life. If you find that you’re distracting yourself more than ever, it might even be something you need to start working on fast—because you can beat it and be rid of the habit for good!

Procrastination often happens when we fear having to do something or get anxiety about a certain task. It might not happen all of the time, but when it does, it can make us feel incredibly unproductive. So, instead of letting it win, take a look at the areas of your life that you can make more efficient.

At Work
If there is any one area that you feel procrastination setting in, it’s likely to be at work. Regardless of the job you have, there will be a task (or even a set number of them) that you dread doing from time to time. When this happens, you do everything you can to avoid it. Instead, why not create a system for getting it all done. Start with the jobs you dislike the most and insentience yourself for getting through it. Before long, you’ll forget what procrastination feels like. If you’re a manager, you might even find that this helps with your team too. There’s nothing like the promise of a reward to make you get things done.

With Your Finances
You might wonder how you could ever procrastinate when it comes to money, but you really can—especially if you’re in debt. If you have piles of debt, it can get quite daunting. So much so, that you decide to ignore the problem and go on with your life as if it’s not there. When in reality, that can make it all so much worse. Instead, work at making your money more efficient. Take action and cut back on your spending now to start seeing the difference it can make. At first, it might feel like a challenge, but you’ll feel so much better when you start doing it.

At Home
When you’re at home, you might want to use your evenings and weekends to rest, and that’s understandable—you do work hard after all. But, as you relax, curled up on the sofa with your smartphone or tablet in hand, you can put off doing things like turning on the lights as it gets dark around you, or switching the heating on in the bedroom before you go to sleep. To be more efficient, you might think about automating your home (click here for details on how), then you really won’t have to move to get everything done.

With Your Family
Some of us have a great relationship with our family. We seem them all of the time, we may even live right across the road from them, and that’s such a unique thing to have. But, for some, having a family can be hard work. No matter what has happened in the past, it’s always good to remember that you only get one family. So, you need to make an effort while you still can. Putting off seeing them or making plans can sometimes make matter worse. Instead, stop procrastinating and make time to see them—Christmas is a good a time as any.
