Frequent These Spots to Become a Singapore Local

Singapore Local-Chispa MagazineEven before I came to Singapore, I wanted to transform myself into a Singapore local. So, during my visa processing, I had a chat with the contact person from One Visa and got to know about the frequent spots to visit after reaching Singapore. It’s to be mentioned here that the conversation was fruitful, and I experienced this myself and understood that these spots are to be visited over and over if we wish to become a true local here. So, if you have the same plan as I did, just know these spots and keep visiting them. Come on; know them now…

Mustafa Centre.
During my first few months in Singapore, I was visiting this mega shopping center every week. This was my one-stop shop for all my purchases. In the initial days, I was a little hesitant to travel all the places alone. But, when I went to the Mustafa Centre, all my fear vanished. I can go there 24/7 without any fears, and at the end of the day, the purchases I made were a bargain. This place is close to my heart, and nowadays, I am visiting it every other day. This is the ideal place for my last-minute grocery purchases.

The Projector.
When I moved to Singapore from India, the one thing I missed was Indian movies. The Projector, which is an old-time cinema, was my favorite spot to pour water into my movie-thirsty throat. They not only have indie films, but I could also watch some eclectic movies too. If you are from Thailand, then visiting the Projector in the Golden Mile Complex will make you feel like you are at another home. The place is full of Thai eateries, and if you are looking to purchase some uniquely Thai things, you can shop at a Thai supermarket here. This place is on my list because it is considered to be an alternative entertainment spot by the locals.

Queensway Shopping Centre.
This shopping destination, which was set up in the year 1976, has been the favorite spot for locals when it comes to recreational goods. I am a sports lover, and when I came to Singapore, I found my racket equipment missing in my closet. Then, I remembered about the suggestions provided by the One Visa expert and went to Queensway. Only after I stepped into the center, did I understand why this place is appreciated by the locals. The prices are always found to be competitive. When I checked out a few stalls, I was able to get the best bargains. More importantly, in no way, was I dissatisfied with the quality of goods. Now, it is my favorite spot too!

IMM.
Although I took a new set of clothes from my home country, I felt I should upgrade my wardrobe with at least some high-end clothes. This goal came true when I visited IMM at Jurong East. You can understand why this is the favorite spot for locals by the large crowds you face during peak hours. Just take an evening walk from Jurong East interchange to this shopping mall, and I am sure that your cloth appetite will be fulfilled.

Although becoming a Singapore local is not easy, you can become one among those people by engaging in the things they love to do. These are the places that are frequented by locals. Visit them again and again to grasp things from them. Then, success will not be too far.
