Sometimes we just need to stop, take a break, and get away from it all. That’s what vacations should be all about. However, sometimes we end up getting more tired or stressed out. The planning for the vacation, the late nights and long flights can leave us feeling more exhausted than when we left. But, if you want to get some serious R&R, then check out one of these laid back travel destinations that will surely keep your mind in la-la land, even when you return.
- The Maldives
There’s a reason so many newlyweds go to the Maldives on their honeymoon. The white sanded beaches, the clear blue waters, and the non-stop sunshine. This is the perfect destination for those who just want to get off the plane and flop on the beach. The flight may take some time, depending on where you’re coming from, but it is worth every second.
- Santorini
This Greek island is a little slice of paradise. As soon as you get here you’ll feel as though all of your troubles and worries have disappeared. We think it has something to do with all those white buildings and blue roofs. Oh, and the excellent free-diving spots, beaches, and sunshine of course.
- Oman
If you want to get away for some winter sun, then Oman is worth checking out. It isn’t as bustling as some of the other Middle Eastern cities, but it still has the perfect weather. If you’re missing out on some liveliness, then make a stopover in Dubai, in the neighboring United Arab Emirates.
- Anguilla
Practically everywhere in The Caribbean seems to have been designed for some rest and relaxation. Everyone has a different, more laid back mindset here. Anguilla tops the list as it doesn’t get so busy with typical tourists during peak season. This means you can just lie back and enjoy the sunshine.
- South of France
Pretty much every single town and village is perfect for R&R, in this part of the world. There are so many quaint villages in France that aren’t spoiled by hundreds of tourists. You’ll be able to make friends with the locals, visit the beaches, and feast on French cuisine; all while enjoying some peace and quiet.
- Akyaka
Some places in Turkey have been designed solely for party-goers and adventure-lovers. We’re talking Gumbet and Istanbul. Then there are parts which are the complete opposite. Akyaka is the ultimate for rest and relaxation resorts. Enjoy a pampering mud bath and some great food in this Turkish hidden gem.
- Thailand
A bit like Turkey, there are some places in Thailand which are solely visited by party loving holidaymakers. However, look beyond those Full Moon parties and you’ll find a beautifully relaxing place to visit. Try checking out Koh Lanta or Koh Samui instead of the usual Phuket or Phi Phi.
- Bali
This Indonesian Island is yet another favorite with honeymooners. This means there’s a distinct lack of clubbing and partying. Instead, you’ll find everyone is present for some serious peace and quiet. The beaches are also some of the best in the world.
