A Change In Surroundings Could Precipitate A Great Idea

Top Travel Ideas For 2016-Chispa MagazineNot all business ideas are spawned in the office. Often it takes creativity to try and see outside of the box. It’s not always apparent to see outside of the box when you’re located within the actual box itself. For this reason, heading out to a new location could help precipitate a great idea, be that how to tackle a business merger, a personal career choice, or simply telling your boss that you need a raise, and how to deftly handle that conversation.

A change in surroundings could precipitate a great idea, but only if you’re open to the possibility that affords. With our following tips, you might find that the best methods of doing the very same are afforded to you in a positive and memorable manner:

Culture
Heading to a new part of the country and staying in form fitted accommodation such as the Courtyard Nashville Vanderbilt can put you in touch with a different flow of life than you’re used to. If that means heading to a rural area thanks to your inner city living or vice versa, then perhaps that is best. Sometimes we can be so caught up in the flow of our lives that it can be hard to switch off auto pilot and come up with some truly revolutionary ideas. This is because in autopilot, you are comfortable. When exposed to new culture, new foods, new adventures and experiences, you immediately take yourself out of the autopilot zone and instead must live in the moment if you’re to survive at all. This is why modes of thinking are easy to fall into, because they work for you at the time. When they no longer work for you, or they are forcibly shaken up by experiencing novelty, then your internal mental brilliance once again triggers, and you can share this with the world; or just your journal of course.

Exposure
Sometimes simply getting out of your normal flow isn’t good enough. You need to be exposed to new modes of thinking. This can happen in numerous ways. It might be that heading for a walk in nature is enough to trigger an idea that’s been lurking in your subconscious, and give it room to be developed in your meditative activity. It could be that visiting artistic galleries or heading to see a local band that are playing without knowing too much about them could trigger a new way of thinking. Exposure yourself to things you do not understand, as this abstract thinking is often the best way to germinate new ideas.

Journal
Journaling is effective, but only in peaceful environments outside of your daily life. We’d recommend heading to the local park, or travelling across the country on a road trip, journaling as you go. Often when you’re away from the pace of your normal job, small things you have been ignoring come back to you. Has your boss truly been handling your department in a way that fosters creativity? Could you apply yourself more? Has any of your education actually informed the way you’ve progressed? If not, then there’s a chance you could improve your circumstances upon your return. You’ll only know if you give yourself the space necessary to see this.
