Inexpensive Ways to Decorate Your House for a Party

Decorate, House Party-Chispa MagazineDecorating your home for a party doesn’t have to be an expensive ordeal and you can create a cozy environment for your guests with some handy DIY efforts.

Paper Flowers
These paper flowers are very easy to make and will look positively pleasant for your party. All you need is some cupcake liners, buttons or other small circular objects for the center of the flower, and pipe cleaners with some glue. Pipe cleaners are fuzzy little sticks that can be bought from most arts and crafts stores for a cheap price and they make the perfect stem for the flower. After that, you should get two cupcake liners to make the flower itself, one for the back and one for the front. Stick them together using glue and then simply stick two buttons on to complete the look.

Flower Holders
You can make some fun flower holders with various different objects. These are perfect for creating a cozy natural look and can be even used in conjunction with the paper flowers if you elected to make them. They can be made with old colorful tin cans if you wash them out thoroughly, or even old bottles, whether they are plastic or glass. To decorate them easily and cheaply, you can use washi tape, which can be bought at most craft stores. This gives them a playfully vibrant look. Normal glasses that you drink out of can also be used if you have any spare.

Balloons
Needless to say, balloons are a cost-effective way of giving your party some life and can be further enhanced using some DIY techniques. Paper cones can be used to make them look like little ice creams, and are very cheap to make. Alternatively, you can fill the balloons with confetti to make them stand out a little more, which is very cheap, especially if you make it yourself using a hole punch and some colored paper. Why not use both of the techniques to make decorated ice cream balloons?

Fairy Lights and Candles
Appropriate lighting can really set the mood of the party and is very cheap to set up. Candles are an awesome affordable way of creating some nice mood lighting and are very tranquil for mature parties. If you don’t like the idea of fire, then fairy lights are a great way of highlighting your room’s edges and are very easy on the eyes, creating a comfortable environment to be in for your guests.

Origami Paper Crafts
For more room accents, you can use origami paper crafts to make many different objects or garlands such as paper chains. Colorful paper is a good idea to create some variance. It will spruce up your rooms and is very cheap to acquire and use. Paper chains and paper birds are absurdly easy to make and can be used as a garland or simply a room decoration that works great when paired with fairy lights. Once you learn how to make Paper Snowflakes, your Christmas parties will be full of Christmas spirit and never look better!

We hope this article makes you realize that party decorations don’t have to be a headache and can be very affordable when you create the items yourself. It’s also a great activity for the kids!
