How Do Deal With Common Air Conditioning Faults?

How Do Deal With Common Air Conditioning Faults-Chispa MagazineAir conditioners: can’t live with them and can’t live without them. And yes, even if we’re women… we should know about these things; especially these days. So, here are some common faults you need to know about if you own an air conditioning unit. With this piece of education you will shine as super mom; and if you can’t seem to fix it on your own… you’ll know what you’re talking about when it’s time to call the repair company.

Low Refrigerant. To put it simply, refrigerant is the chemical that causes the air within your air conditioning unit to cool down. If the levels of refrigerant are low, it could indicate further problems. But what is the most common cause of low refrigerant levels in an air conditioning system? It’s usually something simple such as a leak. These leaks will then need to be located and repaired before you can get the system back up and running again. It’s better to let a heating and air conditioning expert take care of these repairs.

Frozen Coil. All air conditioning units use a coil. These help the air flow properly throughout the system and into your home. When this coil freezes, you have a problem because you won’t be able to use the unit properly. When the coil freezes, it usually indicates a problem with the airflow inside the system. More often than not, the airflow is not working properly because the filters are clogged up with dirt and grime. So, to avoid this happening to your air conditioning unit, you need to make sure you clean your air filters regularly.

Shutting On and Off. There are many problems that can affect the compressor and the evaporator of the air conditioning unit. But the most common is when the unit switches on and off in a seemingly random way. This is known as short cycling. If this isn’t fixed quite quickly, it could cause some permanent damage to the inner components of the unit. It will also cause a power drain, meaning that you will probably end up paying more than you need to to your utilities provider. So, get it fixed as soon as possible.

Electrical Failures. Electrical failures are most common in the condenser and the fan controls. Only trained electricians should try to fix an electrical failure. It can be very dangerous if you have no idea what you’re doing. And electrical failures tend to happen most often when the weather is hot, and the system begins to overheat. This is why it’s important to make sure that refrigerant in the air conditioner is topped up to the right level. You should also try to keep the outdoor part of the system in a shady place.

Failing Outside Fan. The role of the outside fan is to convey the hot air from your home during the summer to the outside. So, if the outside fan is failing to fulfill this role, the air conditioning compressor might overheat and cause the whole system to stop working. It could even cause damage inside the compressor. It’s impossible to solve this problem if you don’t have the necessary skills, so it’s best to use an expert who knows what they’re doing. Ready to make the call?
