Trendy Home, Happy Homeowners
Stephen Cardino, VP and fashion director for Macy’s Home shares the latest on spring 2015 home trends. “Blue is a core color in the home this season. Combine this color with vivid shades of coral or yellow. This combination of cool and warm color families makes a fresh statement in living spaces. Grey continues to be the neutral of choice for home. For an updated look, pair grey with other neutrals such as sand and taupe. Florals take two directions in home this season: Painterly, where we feel the hand of the artist in the design, and in watercolor florals, with a soft wash of both color and pattern. Surface texture has become as important as pattern in all home areas. Textural glass and dinnerware provide great visual interest for the table. We even see this trend in furniture, where textural fabrics are reinventing solid color upholstery.”
