Five Guerrilla Marketing Tricks To Make Your Brand Stand Out

Five Guerrilla Marketing Tricks To Make Your Brand Stand Out-Chispa MagazineNo matter what line of work you’re in, you need proper marketing. The standard, conventional methods are useful, of course. However, if you want something that is not only more cost-effective but also unique, then guerrilla marketing is the way to go.

Guerrilla marketing is all about energy and creativity. You need to be unique, you need to be imaginative, and you need to get out there. It generates buzz, it gets people riled and gets them talking about your brand. Its methods are unconventional and can include anything from PR stunts to actual interaction with consumers. And you can do it both in real life and online. Just do something that gets people talking about your brand.

Offline Guerrilla Marketing

People love free stuff. We start with the simplest and perhaps most “conventional” Guerrilla marketing tip. Everybody knows that everybody likes free stuff, it’s in our DNA. That’s why getting out there and giving people samples of your products is a sure-fire way to become known. However, don’t forget to help people reach you and find your business. So, for example, hand out candy that has your company´s address and email on the paper. Or setting up a booth in a crowded area, and advertising your products.

Do a stunt. This tip is perhaps the hardest one to implement because you need to really be creative. But, if you pull it off, you can really reap huge benefits. A good PR stunt done by a company will not only get people talking, but it will cause a chain reaction. People will video it, post it on Facebook and Instagram. You may even end up in the news, or go viral! Just, please, don’t break the law.

For example, a clothing company advertised its new underwear line by placing them on various statues in their city. While this may be a bit extreme (and possibly illegal) you can start a flash mob or a small theatrical show in a public place. You can also place your business cards in conspicuous and relevant places.

Get some stickers. Go and print out some stickers. Know that sticker printing is cheap and easy and is a very effective way of getting your brand to stand out. But, you need to do two things first. You need to have a sticker idea that catches the eye, and you need to figure out what your potential customer base is like. You need to place these stickers in areas where your “target audience” actually is. So, if you’re running a tattoo shop, getting some stickers inside punk clubs and near music shops might be a good idea. If you have a dog care service, you should place them in conspicuous places near dog parks. And don’t forget to put some kind of contact info on the stickers.

Online Guerrilla Marketing

Become a part of an online community. Guerrilla marketing can go online as well. One of the best ways you can do this is by becoming part of an online community relevant to your business. While this may take some time, if you create a genuine online relationship with people, you will definitely see huge benefits. Websites like Reddit can really help you get your foot in the door. A popular subreddit gets thousands of views per day, which really increases the chances of people stumbling upon your business. They may see a post you made relating to your business, or may even message you. As long as you post and comment regularly, you can get clients without investing a cent. You may even learn something new.

Go Live. Another way you can reach out and advertise is set up a live stream. You can use Youtube, Twitch, or whatever platform you want, and interact with people there. They can communicate with you directly, ask you questions or you can use that time to hang out and build a rapport. However, you need to already have a small base to do this. But, once you have that first initial spark, a live stream can really help you cement the client base you have, and help you get more people on your side.

If you want to be outside of the mainstream, then this is the type of marketing you want. You can actually physically interact with potential consumers, or you can go online and do your thing there. The above tips and ideas are just that—tips and ideas that can get you started, and push you to think in the right direction. All you have to do now is consult your imagination and see what you can think up.
