More than Healthy, She’s The Healthy Warrior

Cristina Gutierrez_Chispa MagazineCertified health coach, clean and eating specialist, cancer guide, mother of two wonderful children, and the founder of The Healthy Warrior, Cristina Gutierrez believes there is no diet that will do what healthy eating does. She asks us to skip the diet and simply eat healthy. We ask her about life experiences that sparked her journey and living lifestyle.

Today, many life or health coaches exist because of their own personal stories. What launched your current journey?
My own experience drove me to become a Certified Health Coach. My journey began back in October 2008 when my daughter was diagnosed with a horrifying ailment. This devastating news put me on a path to healthier living, not only for me, but for my daughter. Her condition revealed to me what my greatest strengths were: my passion for learning about nature and its ways grew deeper and deeper.

Aside from your research and self-education, what sparked within Cristina?
This sparked a deep desire in me to stop holding back and truly start living. What I learned transformed my life forever—now it can transform yours. Since then, my journey has ignited a personal revolution: learning how to have more energy, nourish my mind, body and spirit, lose weight, look and feel better.

What was the biggest aha moment you encountered?
This wake-up call encouraged me to make a total lifestyle upgrade inside and out. It taught me how to listen to my inner guidance. I learned that a nutrient dense, plant-based diet can save lives while the Standard American Diet continues to kill, stress sucks, exercise is non-negotiable, joy is utterly contagious, and having fun must be taken seriously. As a result of all my juicy living and learning, I started my training and created The Healthy Warrior.

I began to cleanse our bodies, which improved our lives. It wasn’t overnight and it took a lot of trial and error. With his approach, which is based on what I learned from many experts in the fields of health and nutrition, I have used food to help my daughter manage and overcome her condition, plus I broke free from unhealthy eating habits, giving me optimum energy. In other words, it encouraged me to make a total lifestyle upgrade inside and out.
