How to Keep the Romance Going, Even With a Busy Schedule

Four Stages of a Strong Relationship-Chispa MagazineWhen you’re a student enrolled in paralegal studies online life becomes something of a balancing act. At any given time you could be juggling your paralegal course online, kids, a job, friendships, and your relationship with your significant other. One of the first things that people seem to let slide is romance in their relationship, as it seems to be the last item on the “to do” list each day.

Not to worry, as we’ve come up with some simple, easy, and quick ways to keep the romance going, even when you’re busy juggling a full schedule of tasks, appointments, and commitments.

Dedicate Time Daily To Each Other
All too often our days go by in a blur and before you know it you’re lying in bed at the end of the day wondering what you even accomplished. This is why it’s important to dedicate “couple time” to one and another, each and every day. This means one-on-one time without kids interrupting, responding to emails, checking your phone, watching TV, or other distractions.

Just 15-30 minutes is usually enough to discuss your day with each other and make that connection. It doesn’t need to be a deep conversation, it’s just a way to connect on a daily basis and stay in tune with each other.

Make Dates Happen
It doesn’t matter if you’ve been married 15 years, each have careers, and you’ve got multiple kids, dates should still happen. It may be a bit much to expect to have a date day/night weekly, but monthly should be the minimum. This is an opportunity for you to decompress, put all other issues and tasks aside, and just enjoy one and other’s company.

Date night doesn’t have to be a big production; it may even involve renting a great movie and curling up on the couch together. All date night means is that you have set aside a chunk of time to enjoy something together.

Send Those Little Messages During The Day
Little messages sent in the day can be extremely thoughtful and romantic. Let your significant other know you’re thinking of them, and give yourself that moment to just relax and chat. You can share a joke, a memory, tell them about something funny that has just happened to you, or just send a simple “thinking of you.

Voice How You Feel
Instead of just thinking about how you feel, or telling friends how great your partner is, let them know. Let them know they are appreciated, loved, and special to you. Actions mean a lot, but sometimes it’s nice to hear the words, too.

It’s The Little Things That Count
When it comes to keeping romance alive it really comes down to the little things. Those little unexpected and thoughtful gestures here and there that show your significant other that you are thinking of them and you love them make a huge difference. Romance isn’t determined by gifts and lavish offerings; the little gestures tend to be much more meaningful in the long-run.
