Tara Middleton: Dream Coach, Motivational Speaker, Minister, Writer, Daughter, Sister, Mentor, Friend, Mom to One of Her Students.

What have you overcome? I have overcame many challenges in my life. I had to put my senior year of college on hold to be a primary caregiver to a terminally ill parent. After losing my mother from cancer, I finished my B.S. in Biology/pre-med. Then, I was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor and was placed in Hospice. Last year, I was given three months to live. In some ways, I feel I have cheated death. No matter my situation, I am still a young woman who deals with heart break, rejection, or simple insecurities.

My endurance has grown because of the many trials and challenges I have faced due to my illness. The majority of what has occurred in my life in the past few years has been out of my control.  Being a Christian has taught me patience and that everything may not happen when I think it should.  I have used the adversity in my life as a chance to grow spiritually and as an individual. There are things that I experienced that I didn’t believe I could survive. Instead, it has strengthened me and now I know there is nothing that I cannot overcome. I am purpose driven. Therefore, my faith in God and fulfilling my need to help others discover their purpose, gifts, and talents is how I deal with this fight that I am currently facing. I encourage others through my life challenges and tell them there is nothing we face that we cannot overcome to experience our victory.  I do not spend time dwelling on the negative things like my diagnosis, prognosis, and things I can’t control.  I believe our words are very powerful. I am careful of what I confess and I choose to use positive confession in my life. I celebrate each day I am given by pursing passion and purpose.
