Three Things Blocking Your Spiritual Growth

If you are concerned with trying to be as in touch with your spirituality as possible, then a big part of that is knowing what kinds of things tend to get in the way of it. Everyone has these blockages to deal with; it’s very much just a part of being human. But if you want to know how you are going to be able to get through them, you first need to know what they are for you. Everybody’s blockages vary from person to person, but there are several which are generally pretty common, and those are what we will focus on here. Here are some of the things that might be blocking your spiritual growth.

The Monkey Mind
It is hard to be at your spiritual best when you are merely allowing the mind to do its thing. Left alone, the mind goes from one thing to the next, and it would continue to do so endlessly if you did not step in to try and do something about it. While you might be okay with this, it is much more likely that you will probably want to do something about it. It is hard to be close to yourself spiritually when your own mind is in the way. If you are sick of your mind always going from place to place, a regular meditation practice will absolutely benefit you. This will help to tame the mind, and stop it merely running all over the place as it wants to do. The benefits you will find from that are enormous.

Habits
Most of us are addicted to something or other, even if it is just sugar or caffeine. If you know for a fact that you have some addiction, then you will probably want to try and do away with it as soon as possible. Having an addiction is always going to act as a blockage between you and your true spiritual self, so this is something that you will have to try and work through as best as you can if you care about that at all. Depending on the nature of your addiction, there are many different things you can try to do to get through your addiction. You might need to attend a xanax addiction treatment center, or you might just need to take less sugar in your coffee. Whatever it is, make sure you are doing it.

Envy
Being jealous of others is one of the surest ways of stopping yourself from developing further as a human being – in any respect, but certainly also in terms of the spiritual life. If you find that you experience a lot of envy towards others, then you should think about trying to work through that as best as you can, which is generally something that you are going to be able to do fairly well if you are serious about it. If you manage to do away with it altogether, you will probably be in a better situation in no time.
