The Most Hirable Skills In The Current Market

Job Search-Chispa MagazineIf you’re in the job market, you’re going to be padding out your resume with all of the skills you think are relevant to literally any company out there. When you’re in desperate need of a job, you’re not going to pick and choose the people you want to work for, and that’s where a lot of us can lose out. Yet, some skills are a lot more valuable than others, and these can change year by year. So, when you’re next giving your CV a read through, make sure you’ve included things that are akin to those on this list, or include the hobbies that would be relevant to such skills. If you’re out on the hunt, here we go!

Ability in Finance
Having some accountancy skills on your side are going to take you far. If you know how to balance books, project the profit and loss your company might face, and generally have an awareness of what’s going on in the stock market, you’re invaluable to anyone struggling with their baselines (and that’s a lot of startups).

For a good example where you could put your skills to great use: a lot of people like to turn to invoice factoring companies to make sure they get paid at the end of the day. Yet, if you can guarantee a company you can do that for them, you’re going to be in high demand! Make sure invoices are correctly detailed and are billed on time for your company’s time, clients are going to be even more receptive due to your professional and efficient business front.

Technology Skills
This is one of the most hirable skills of the past ten years or so, as more and more people are taking their businesses to the digital and need managers to make sure it’s going to go as smoothly as possible. Got some leadership skills? Know your way around a computer and the ins and outs of website code? Put that down on your CV and boast about how proficient you are.

Code speaks for you. Simply knowing how HTML works means you can get hired by multiple companies, either as an intern, apprentice, or full fledged employee. Such base skills mean you can be easily trained in other areas! .

Communication
If you can talk to people, whether they be clients and customers or employees and investors, your charisma skills are going to take you far. Employers always need someone to be at the helm of their relations team, and these kind of so called ‘soft skills’ are usually in short supply when someone needs to be behind a desk all day.

Be versatile and flexible with your skills when you’re outlining your CV, and tailor one to every occasion. All the companies you look into don’t need the same information as others, so make sure you put time and effort into crafting the best picture of yourself individually. It’ll be a great first impression before the employer even sees you.
