Simple Ways to Get Your Garden Ready for Summer

Simple Ways to Get Your Garden Ready for Summer_Chispa Magazine
When summer comes, we naturally want to spend more time outdoors. Getting some sun is good for us thanks to that Vitamin D, and it makes us feel so much happier than the gloomy winter weather. And, one of the easiest ways to spend more time in the sun is to get in the garden. Let’s take a look at how you can get your garden ready for summer:

Get Rid of Weeds
Weeds totally ruin the look of a garden, so get rid of yours. Use weedkiller and get your gloves on to dig them out if they’re stubborn. You can never get rid of weeds completely, but you can have a good go of it and stop them from ruining your summer garden.

Invest in New Furniture
New furniture could be anything from a table and chairs set to a hammock. You can get hammocks that stand freely, so you don’t need trees to attach them to or anything. With a table and chair set, you can invite friends round to have lunch in the garden when the weather is nice.

Add New Plants
New plants will make your garden look lively and colorful, so add some that won’t take much effort to maintain. You can find out which plants will suit the climate and your garden online. Every novice gardener can do it.

Put a Fence Up
Privacy in a garden is important, especially if you want to spend time with family and friends there. Put a fence up if you haven’t currently. All Fencing Gold Coast have some brilliant examples and there’s a type to suit every budget.

Buy Accessories
Garden accessories add fun and personality to your outdoor space. I love water features for summer, as they add an element of tranquility. Fairy lights can look amazing when hung in trees, too.

Get Lighting
Lighting is a good idea if you plan on spending a lot of time outside. Solar powered lights will be cheap to run and they look pretty good too, plus great for when you invite your friends for a garden party. Also, multi-colored paper lanterns always set the mood for cheer and fun.

Get Rid of Nests
Check your garden for nests to make sure it’s safe for you and the family to spend time there. Ants nests and even wasps nests can appear come summer, so be sure yours is safe and get rid of any nests you have. There are tutorials and instructions for this online. If you have a serious infestation, you’ll need to contact a professional.

De-clutter
Finally, get rid of any clutter in your garden. Old toys and things you don’t use should be thrown to make space. Be vigilant. Broken accessories will ruin the look of your garden.
