Seven Ways To Look Younger

Moving Abroad Solo-Chispa Magazine-3Most people enjoy looking younger than they really are, and no one wants to age prematurely, yet there is a lot around us every day that means this is a difficult process to keep up with. Our lifestyle, pollution, or perhaps our own DNA can all make us look older than we actually are. There are some ways, however, to remain looking youthful for longer. Unfortunately, we can’t stop the aging process, but the signs of aging can certainly be reduced.

Maintain A Good Weight
Those who can maintain a steady, healthy weight are much less likely to age quicker than those whose weight constantly goes up and down. Your body is able to use the energy that you give it, and that will give you a youthful glow and keep your skin and hair looking healthy. When you ‘yo-yo’ diet, your body often has to use the resources that would normally be used to give you a youthful appearance in other ways, such as keeping your organs healthy. Maintaining a healthy weight isn’t as hard as it sounds as long as you eat a well-balanced diet. Switch large portions for smaller ones, to begin with, and then start adding in the healthier ingredients if you’re having trouble getting started.

Use Sunblock
The sun is something that can have a truly devastating effect on our skin. It’s lovely to be outside in good weather, but the UV rays from the sun can cause premature aging such as age spots and wrinkles. In the worse cases, it can even cause skin cancer. If you apply sunblock every time you go outside, even if the sun doesn’t seem very strong or it’s hidden behind clouds, you will protect your skin from these dangers and reduce the aging effects of the sun.

It’s important to get into this habit and not just use sunblock when you can see and feel how hot the sun is. Even when the weather seems hazy, the sun’s rays will still be reaching you, and this is the most vulnerable time for your skin.

Scrub Your Skin
Using a scrub on your skin and exfoliating it will remove the dead skin cells that build up there during the day. Your skin will look its best; you’ll be glowing and young looking, and your skin will feel lovely and soft as well. Not only will you look good immediately after you have exfoliated, but you will reduce the chances of acne forming as well. This is because you are removing the skin cells that would otherwise block the pores of your face.

There are a variety of different ways to exfoliate such as using a manual exfoliator or a chemical one, and doing the task at home or going to a salon. You can even make your own facial or body scrub using all natural ingredients.

Cosmetic Procedures
There are dozens of different cosmetic procedures that you can choose from if you want to gain a more youthful appearance. It depends how self-conscious you are about how you look, and what it is you don’t like. Picking the right cosmetic procedure can boost your confidence and push you on to become a healthier, happier person. You might not like your receding hairline, for example, in which case you can have a hair regrowth procedure; click here to check it out! It could be that the wrinkles in your skin are bothering you, and Botox can at least temporarily fix the issue. Or maybe you have lost a lot of weight and now have excess skin; a surgeon could remove that and make you feel a lot better again.

Use Moisturizer
Keeping your skin (and yourself in general) properly hydrated is essential if you want to be healthy and look younger. Skin that doesn’t have enough moisture in it will always look a lot older than it really is. You can easily make moisturizing part of your daily cleansing routine, and that means that your face will be properly hydrated at least once, if not twice, a day.

For those with sensitive skin, it’s important to be careful when choosing a moisturizer. You may not be able to pick one up from the store because you need something more specialized. If you use something that causes redness and itching because the chemicals are too harsh for your skin, you will undo any good the moisturizer would have done, and your skin won’t only look dehydrated but unhealthy too. Rather than not using any moisturizer at all, look for natural and organic versions. Rosehip and argan oil are both good ingredients for sensitive skin.

If you don’t want to use much moisturizer, it’s important to spray or splash water on your face throughout the day when you can, as this will give your skin a healthy glow as well.

Positive Thinking
As strange as it may seem, positive thinking does have a definite impact on your youthfulness – at least in terms of looks. When you are thinking of happy, positive things, you will automatically frown less, and that reducing how deep your wrinkles look. You will also have a much more youthful air about you, and that will give the impression of you being younger than you really are as well. For many, it is difficult to start thinking more positively, but it can be done. The best way to start is to deliberately smile more; you should do this even if there is nothing in particular to smile about. If this is the case, try to think of all the things that you are grateful for that day, or in your life in general. There will always be something.

As time goes on, this habit of smiling will become much more natural, and it will lead to a more positive attitude in general.

Sleep Well
You will have heard the phrase ‘beauty sleep’ before, but you may not have believed it truly existed. The truth is, beauty sleep is real, and a good night’s sleep will give you a younger looking appearance because lack of sleep will make you look a lot older than you really are. Plus, if you sleep well, you will have more energy, and that will give others the impression that you are younger as well.
