Melon-Breakfast-Bowl-Chispa Magazine

Glowing, radiant skin doesn’t just come from using anti-aging products. Eating a breakfast full of anti-oxidants, fruits, vegetables, and protein will help give you the perfect skin you’ve always wanted.

Melon Breakfast Bowl
What’s great about it? Rockmelons have a high-electrolyte and water content and they are rich in fiber. The two combined help promote regularity and a healthy digestive system. Rockmelons are also high in antioxidants such as Vitamin C and A, both important for boosting the immune system. Vitamin C is also important in the making of collagen. Collagen gives strength and structure to your skin and is vital for elasticity and firmness.

1 rockmelon (cantaloupe)
Thick Greek Style yogurt or your choice of natural yogurt
2 tablespoons goji berries
2 tablespoons bee pollen
2 tablespoons pumpkin seeds
2 tablespoons coconut oil
1 tablespoon cacao nibs (optional)
Serves 2

Add granola or a mixture of nuts, berries and seeds can be used in place of the super food sprinkles. Drizzle with a little raw honey if needed. Mix through 1 tablespoon of Organic Superfood and Protein into the yogurt before serving.

Detox Protein
What’s good about it? This smoothie is high in protein, antioxidants, folate, minerals, and fiber to support a healthy metabolism. Studies show the berries contain antioxidants called polyphenols, which are anti-inflammatory to the body and can promote optimum health, plus vitality. Chia seed or my suggested alternatives pump up the omega 3. Omega-3 fatty acid is an essential fatty acid, critical for good health and must be obtained from the food we eat. Benefits include helping to lower cholesterol levels, reduce high blood pressure, improving symptoms of arthritis, and improved mental health.

Matcha provides a delicious nutrient-rich energy boost before and after your workout. Matcha will increase mental alertness, and ability to concentrate both during and after your workout. Healthy Chef Organic Matcha also works as a fat blocker and it blocks the ability of digestive enzymes to break down fat, a step necessary for fat to enter our cells. So instead of absorbing and storing the fat, it gets passed through the body. Matcha does not put any stress on the body. It doesn’t raise blood pressure or heart rate like coffee making it a safe alternative.

Organic Superfood is the ultimate wholefood vitamin formula to nourish every cell in your body. A delicious blend of 10 cold-pressed organic fruit and vegetables designed to give you 30 percent of your recommended daily requirements in every serve. Perfect for the whole family, it’s high in antioxidants to support optimum health and rich in prebiotics to nourish healthy digestion and overall wellbeing. A touch of cinnamon improves insulin’s efficiency, which helps regulate blood sugar levels.

Aside from tasting sensational, protein can balance hormones, assist in weight loss, support detoxification, and digestion. Protein is also the key nutrient that helps you get ageless glowing skin and lean toned muscles.

1 cup fresh or frozen berries
1 frozen banana
small handful baby spinach leaves
1 cup almond milk or coconut water
1 tablespoon chia seeds

2 tablespoons Protein Powder
1 tablespoon  Organic Superfood

Beauty Boosting
What’s great about it? Homemade almond milk is high in vitamin E, an antioxidant that can help fight off free radicals for healthy skin, as well as a healthy immune system. You can also use coconut water that hydrates or macadamia milk that naturally contains antioxidants like vitamin E and zinc which neutralize free radicals in the body.

Goji Berries have high anti-oxidant activities and are believed to slow the aging process by preventing oxidation, inhibiting mutation of DNA, and helping to restore damaged DNA. Romaine lettuce are rich in vitamin A, which revitalizes skin by increasing cell turnover. They are also a good source of potassium that is critical to our cardiovascular and nerve function, regulating the transfer of nutrients into cells and facilitating muscle energy.

1 1/2  cups of your choice of coconut water, almond milk, macadamia nut milk or cold hibiscus tea
1 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 cup fresh pineapple
1/4 avocado
4 leaves baby romaine lettuce
1 teaspoon whole chia seed or ground flaxseed
1 tablespoon goji berries
1 tablespoon Healthy Chef Protein
1 tablespoon Healthy Chef Organic Superfood

Combine berries, coconut water or others in your choices, avocado, lettuce, yogurt, goji, flaxseed, protein, and superfood into a high speed blender. Blend for 15 seconds until smooth and creamy. Pour into a glass and enjoy.

Hibiscus tea is a delicious antioxidant packed addition to this smoothie as a replacement for the milk or coconut water. It’s rich in Vitamin C and has astringent properties for tonifiying the skin. Brew it the night before so it’s lovely and chilled. It’s slightly tart like cranberries, so you may like to sweeten your smoothie by adding a little raw honey or some fresh pineapple. Add 1 cup of fresh sweet pineapple to aid protein digestion and use filtered water in place of coconut water if doing so. The added bonus of making your own almond milk is that you can also use the leftover pulp to make almond milk face and body scrub. Just combine 1 cup of almond pulp with 1/2 cup cold pressed almond or macadamia nut oil + 1 tablespoon raw honey + 1 tablespoon fine ground sea salt.
