Your Wardrobe For All Occasions

Fashion-Chispa MagazineFashion trends are changing every season, but there are such clothes that are the base of any female wardrobe, in spite of the lifestyle, age, and fashion preferences of the particular woman. It’s also called a capsule wardrobe. It implies a minimum number of items, which are extremely versatile, can be easily combined with each other and would go for all kinds of occasions—job interviews, hot dates, Saturday shopping, weddings, parties, covering all four seasons.

Common rules. As you’re looking for a wardrobe matching all occasions, remember that it’s about making your life easier, so the function must be over fashion. One new item should mean at least several new outfits, but not require extra pieces of clothing to go with it to look good. You’d better avoid picking the same color for all your clothes as well.

So, let’s deal with the absolute must-haves of a modern woman’s multi-purpose minimalist wardrobe.

Outer clothing. You need three items at least: a winter coat, and a couple for spring and autumn. It’s important as well to have each piece in a different color in order not to end up with three black coats.

  • Winter coat. Choose such materials as wool, alpaca, or cashmere. This item is meant to keep you warm and comfortable, pulling together your every outfit.
  • Trench coat. It’s a classic that always comes in handy during the transitional seasons. A pretty lady with a belt, a stylish chick – without it.
  • Leather jacket. Unlike a trench coat, this piece of wardrobe makes a look more edgy and badass, brings a new texture to your style and is super versatile: your looks can vary from glamorous and feminine to crazy cowgirl outfits.

Formal shirt. A classic collared white shirt is the most versatile item that can give any image the right mood. Use your creativity to adjust it for your today’s outfit: wear it under the sweater, roll up the sleeves, tie it on the waist, or pair with shorts.

All-purpose blouse (or two). Just choose the best fit, which is super comfortable and made of natural fabric. One of them should be airy, maybe even transparent—here the silk works best.

Blazer. It is a definite have for all ladies! This perfect piece of clothing can be combined with jeans, pants, shorts, skirts, and even cocktail dresses, besides it also prevents you from getting cold under any circumstances.

A pair of jeans. The raw blue denim in slim straight jeans is an ideal foundation for all sorts of garbs. Jeans work well with sneakers, flats, high hills, T-shirts, jerseys, cardigans, coats, and sweaters,  adding notes of glamor and style to your outfit.

A pair of sharp trousers. A perfect pair of formal pants, that ideally fits you, is able to raise your style up to the next level. Wear it well-pressed, combining with blouses and cute accessories.

Dress for all occasions. A little black dress? Maybe. But, if you like some other color and it really fits you, why not? From weddings to business meetings with cocktail parties in between – the little dress is at your disposal. Choose the one with short sleeves, or sleeveless at all, and take care of the length (not more than four fingers higher the knee) to keep it classy for official occasions.

A super cute sweater. If choosing the only multi-purpose sweater, it’s better to pick the one with a classic crew neck cut, not too tight (to have room for layering shirts and blouses underneath), made of quality fabric, in a neutral color that you really like.

Skirt. Most people believe that a pencil skirt is the most classic, but if you have nothing to do with everyday office dress code, this piece of wardrobe is at risk of gathering dust on the shelf. To avoid this, try a straight skirt silhouette, which is definitely more versatile and comfortable.

A couple of simple T-shirts. Simple is the one with a U-neck cut, slightly baggy, with not too wide sleeves. If you can combine it with jeans, wear under a blazer or coat, and tuck into a high-waisted pants or skirt, it’s exactly what you need.
